Going Home……

Hi Vintage Lovers,

We are having a long weekend away before all the packing and moving maddness starts in our houseshold. I just love road trips, just packing up and disappearing.........what fun!

We decided to to go home for a few days to catch-up with some loved-ones, have some time to ourselves, and to share the fantastic news about our old house. Home is a great place and if you have more than one place you call home, like us, you are even luckier.

Home is that that special place that you want to return to over and over and puts a smile on your face every time you think of it.

Where is your special place that you call home?

Have a great weekend.

Worth Waiting For………

Hi Vintage Lovers,

It has been a busy few weeks around here, it seems so long since I have blogged. Soooooo glad to be back in the blogging world. I've missed you all.

We have some big news - we have found our old house! Yay! She is  a 140 year old beautiful stone cottage on a 1/4 acre. She is just gorgeous and we fell in love with her the minute we both walked through her front door. She hasn't been modernised too much which we love, and she has my top five things I wanted in an old house -

  • Floor Boards
  • No Built-ins
  • Claw Foot Bath
  • Timber Kitchen
  • A decent garden

She has been well looked after, a decent shed for hubby and all my restoring, and a decent garden. I love that she is on a 1/4 of an acre and hasn't been sub-divided as people do with many of the larger old blocks just to make a quick dollar.

We settle in eight weeks. I can't wait to show her to you. It's going to be a long eight week wait. As the old saying goes - Anything good is well worth waiting for.

I have started shopping for her though, which I am hoping will make the eight weeks disappear rather quickly. I popped into my favorite antique shop during the week and couldn't believe my eyes when I came across some Circa 1900's train/tram luggage racks.

Aren't they just gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!! I am thinking they will be perfect in the bathroom for towels. The old pine meatsafe, that we have had for a while, will be perfect in the bathroom also for all my linen.

Have a great week.
